On the fundraising front, WHA just held its annual fundraiser, the 2012 Luau in Vienna, Virginia on September 23rd. The Luau was a tremendous success thanks to the dedication of our event coordinator, Ms. Deirdre Vo and her hard working team. The event was completely sold out. The Luau was filled with beautiful guests and their colorful Hawaiian costumes.  Our guests were kept busy with the studio portrait section, casino royale, silent auction, and high energy DJ music. Everyone was free to move about and mingle with each other throughout the night.  The proceeds from this event

Raffle team - Tim Farabaugh, guest & Hien Vo
are a major portion of WHA's operating budget. With  these donations, WHA will be able to continue providing care for those underserved overseas.

A big heartfelt thanks to our supporters and talented team members for making this a very successful evening.

WHA's teaching team is heading back to Vietnam in November and collecting medical textbooks for its mission

World Health Ambassador is getting ready to send a medical teaching team to Vietnam in late November of 2012. With your help, the team hopes to restore the medical library at the Can Tho School of Health Sciences by restocking its contents with new or lightly used medical text books. This will be the first phase of our library restoration project.  The second phase of modernization will be to improve its computer infrastruture so that the students and faculties can search online for more up to date medical literature.  Currently, the medical library is short on many types of textbooks.  Those that are available are grossly outdated textbooks from a variety of foreign donors and are written in several foreign languages.  A more uniform, updated and functional library will greatly help to further the studies of its students and doctors and allow WHA staff to perform its teaching responsibilities. WHA is asking that you donate recent medical textbooks (current or one edition old medical, dental, and pharmacy textbooks) or donate funds to purchase new or lightly used textbooks. Your text books can be sent to WHA headquarters or donations can be processed online at whausa.org. If you have questions, please email WHA at info@whausa.org.

Donated medical textbooks are accepted through November 15th, 2012.  Please ship textbooks to:
