Medical Mission to Can Tho, Vietnam - March 2007

The Can Tho Medical Relief Mission is the second medical mission project organized by the WHA International Medical Relief Group. We plan to bring a health care team of physicians, dentists, nurses, computer specialists, and other professionals to provide medical and dental treatments to the Vietnamese living in the Mekong Delta Region. Specifically, the team will be concentrating on several districts within the Can Tho City vicinity.

As part of our mission, we intend to screen, diagnose, and treat approximately 2,500 people during our 14-day mission. While in Can Tho, we will work closely with the local health providers as well as key community leaders and professionals, sharing with them our medical and scientific knowledge and providing to them recommendations on the appropriate approaches to deliver health care to people in under-developed countries.

Mission Objectives:
1. Medical and Dental Mission: to provide medical and dental care to underserved villages in Can Tho province in cooperation with the medical and dental teams from Can Tho School of Health Sciences.
2. Surgical Cooperative Program (SCP): our surgeon to work along side with the local physician staffs at Can Tho General Hospital to exchange medical knowledge.
3. Visiting Professor Program (VPP): our staffs to perform medical, dental and clinical pharmacy teaching at the Can Tho School of Health Sciences.
